FAQ

Can I borrow or rent clothing and equipment when I book a trip?

Equipment: we provide all equipment on all of our trips. Life jackets, ice skates, backpacks, tents, binoculars etc. Check out the tour page to see what exactly is included.

Clothing: we do not borrow- or rent out clothing. We can strongly recommend Houdini for rental clothing, a small scale and high quality outdoor brand from Stockholm. With your booking confirmation you will get a 30% discount on all rental gear, which you can buy afterwards too.

Can I pay on the tour day itself?

No, payment is only accepted by debit or credit card on booking. When making a booking request for a private trip, a payment request will be sent out upon confirmation.

My payment is not going through

Firstly try using another card. If that did not work, try using another device. Lastly, contact your bank. Cards are often blocked for international/overseas payment as default. This should fix the issue 99% of the time. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact us.

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad?

Quite unlikely since Sweden is the second country in Europe with the least rain! Tours will only be canceled when the weather jeopardizes safety. In 95% of the normal bad weather cases the tour conducts anyways. Our guides know many different areas and will accustom the tour so that we avoid bad weather if possible!

What happens if there’s no snow/ice?

When there’s no snow to be seen in Stockholm, 9 out of 10 times there is snow and ice outside of the city, and our guides know just where to find it! Last year’s winter season we haven’t had one skiing or skating excursion that we weren’t able to carry out, and only one hike without snow (the season’s first one). However in the unlikely circumstances that there is not enough ice/snow, we simply work with the circumstances that we have. So instead of an ice skating trip we’d carry out a skiing trip and vice versa. If the snow isn’t deep enough for snowshoeing we do the hike anyways on our hiking boots through the snow and over frozen lakes.

What if I want to do a tour outside of the regular tour days?

Please have a look at the tour schedule! Here is an overview of all scheduled trips. If the schedule doesn’t work out with your planning, you can always make a booking request for a private trip directly in our booking form. If this is not a possibility for you, please contact us and we can see what we can move around.

Where do we meet and how do I get there?

We meet at our Urban Basecamp on Södermalm, Tideliusgatan 62, 118 69 Stockholm. The closest metro stations are ‘Skanstull’ on the green line, and ‘Mariatorget’ on the red line. You can easily plan your walk or metro ride by using this Google Maps link. The times given are very accurate! There is detailed information in your confirmation email.

Where is my booking confirmation?

If you booked and you haven’t received a booking confirmation within 15 minutes please go through your spam and unwanted folder. If you can’t find anything here either, please contact us!

If you have too much time on your hands, you should check out our IAQ (Infrequently Asked Questions) as well. Note that you will not find any useful answers there. And no useful questions at that, either.
