Mountainbike Stockholm: Trails & Skills
Sweden's mountainbike scene is booming, and it's easy to understand why: the endless trails combined with the famous 'right to roam' creates a trail rider's paradise. The variety, from sweaty-palm enduro runs to mellow xc mtb riding, is unique. Stockholm does not come with high altitude however. In fact, you will probably have a go at us when we tell you about our highest point (Tornberget, 111 meters). But what it lacks in altitude, it makes up for in trail quality ten times over. Which is why Redbull has not written about mountain biking in Stockholm once, but two times over. And one articles features our rides!
Which trip to choose?
Beginner: we make use of gravel roads through the forest to link some of the easier, less technical, single track together. Trails will be relatively flat, without too many roots & rocks. All paths will be scenic. Basic biking skills are required.
Intermediate / experienced: we mainly focus on all-mountain-style trail riding: granite slabs, rock gardens, flow trails and more. The trails are commonly defined by short climbs and short downhill runs. Overall, it's of the more technical kind. Pick the mellow line, or find a rock / root to launch yourself off and get some air time. Our mountainbike trails allow for much riding creativity. There's plenty of flow as well. Rock rolls, natural drops, and jumps are abundant.
